This has been on my mind for a while tbh. I could not believe it when I first heard that Cheryl Tweedy was indeed going to become Cheryl Cole again.
I wondered how one girl could make the same mistake so many times. How could she be so stupid? Wasn't it obvious that he's a complete and utter cheat, who cannot be trusted and will never change? Then I thought about it for a second. I realised that everyone has to make decisions for themselves. I heard that she said 'she would never forgive herself if she didn't give it one last chance'. That's when I realised that to her, this is her fairytale. He (that scheming-lying-love-rat-who-doesn't-know-what's-good-for-him) is her Prince Charming. She truly believes that he is The One. We've all heard those stories where a couple faces trial and tribulations, but proves everyone wrong after 30 years when they're still together. That is what Cheryl is hoping for. Only time will tell, but for the moment I feel like people need to lay off of her. At the end of the day, all any girl wants is that beautiful life-changing, earth-shattering romance with her Prince Charming, that has this incomprehensible longevity, and I think every girl deserves the chance to have that. Cheryl needs to figure out for herself if Ashley is that for her, and no one has the right to tell her that she's being stupid. She owes it to herself to give it a chance, if that's what is in her heart. We do what we can live with. If he makes her look stupid, because she's taken him back and he cheats then so be it, isn't that better than her spending her life wondering what might've been if she'd taken him back?
So now I'm through with Chezza, on to another pop princess - Katy Perry. I am not digging the ginger hair. She really suits the black-haired Zooey Deschanel look. Maybe I'll get used to it, but I'm not anticipating it being so. Rihanna has ditched the red, which upsets me, I was really liking the whole LOUD look. Although maybe she saw the reunion episode of Geordie Shore. I didn't realise there were only three shades of hair colour out there; over-dyed black-brown, over-bleached bottle blonde, and overly-fake vivid red. I'd always thought of it as a spectrum, but no, apparently there are only three flat shades of hair and one skin tone. Orange. At least now I know where I'm going wrong!
Something else that I have noticed of late is that the LaGa seems to be much more conservative in her dress sense these days. Necklines and silhouettes remain very much exaggerated, but she is most definitely covering up! Definite shift in taste, she's favouring much more classic looks these days, perhaps to complement the Cruella DeVille hair. She looked stunning in this
If only she'd have traded in the hooker boots for those gorgeous siren red platform courts she was sporting the other day. AND if only the next single wasn't 'You and I'. I feel somewhat personally cheated by this choice. The song does exactly what she hoped it would, and that is bring joy to my heart, and a smile to my face EVERYTIME that I hear it. No mean feat. I feel cheated because my absolute favourite version of this song is the acoustic version from one of those American morning shows. She goes on about how she doesn't want anyone to buy it, or pay to listen to it, and she explains how it came from 'the deepest, most pure happiest place in (her) heart'. That is the allure of the song. You can tell how much it means to her. As much as I love the song, I'd respect her so much more if she'd refused to release it. It is perhaps my favourite Gaga song, but the only reason I will even consider getting on board with it as a single, is the promise of the accompanying video. I guess the song would've meant more if it wasn't a single. I understand the decision from a business perspective, it was the most radio-played non-single album track. It appeals to the masses and shows a different side of her. But still.
